"Where are your burning bushes?" was one of the themes of the Initial Formation Weekend in Australia this year, held at the beautiful Bundeena
beach. Taken from the scripture readings of the same Sunday (Exodus 3:13-14), Sr Edna Mary helped all who particpated to reflect deeply on their journey to discover their own "burning bush" experiences. The sharings were blessed with real and beautiful human stories of each participant. Darkness interspersed with grace moments, pains intertwined with joy... In big ways or small ways, these are all human experiences of the burning bush, the deep encounter with God, which is really happening daily if we could bring ourselves to be aware of God's presence in the flames of life.
May we continue to discover, or rather, be more aware, of the burning bushes on our journey, hold them sacred, be challenged and be transformed by them.
May those flames never die in us. Because they really can never die. They are flames that do not destroy. They are eternal flames of life and life ever-lasting.
